About Michael Rachshtut, MD

Hematologist and medical oncologist Michael Rachshtut, MD, brings into focus both clinical facts and his patients' personal experiences with cancer to help them feel comfortable and confident in his care to help bring them back to health.

In his practice at Redeemer Health in partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, Dr. Rachshtut - known affectionately to both patients and colleagues as "Dr. Mickey" - treats both hematological malignancies (including, but not limited to, myelodysplasia, lymphoma and multiple myeloma) and benign blood disorders (including anemia, blood cell and platelet abnormalities, bone marrow disorders, and hematologic conditions arising during pregnancy, among others). He is especially respected for his work with patients experiencing clotting and bleeding disorders.

Dr. Rachshtut also treats a wide variety of other cancers, among them lung, gastrointestinal and genitourinary cancer.

His first goal for any patient is an understanding of their disease and their upcoming treatment. In addition to the individualized care he provides, he believes having a complete cancer team available in a single location, as we do at Redeemer Health, helps his patients have a more convenient, better overall experience.

While growing up in a family of physicians the future "Dr. Mickey" always aspired to a life of public service and healing. After medical school he went on to complete an internship and residency in internal medicine at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia. He later served as chief resident in internal medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he was chosen to serve as chief fellow.

Today, in addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Rachshtut teaches at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, where he is an associate professor of clinical medicine. In 2020, 2021, and again in 2022, he was listed among Philadelphia Magazine's "Top Docs" and named a "Top Doctor" by Jersey's Best.

Dr. Rachshtut is board certified in medical oncology and hematology. He is fluent in English, Hebrew and Russian.
