Pastoral Care
As a Catholic Health System, rooted in the tradition of the Sisters of the Redeemer, we Care, Comfort, and Heal following the example of Jesus, proclaiming the hope God offers in the midst of human struggle. Pastoral Care is an integral part of this mission.
What is Pastoral Care?
Pastoral care is a person-centered, holistic approach to care that complements the care offered by other helping disciplines while paying particular attention to spiritual care. The focus of pastoral care is upon the healing, guiding, supporting, reconciling, nurturing, liberating, and empowering of people in whatever situation they find themselves*.
Spiritual and emotional health has been shown to be a leading factor that directly affects our overall health and well-being. Pastoral care recognizes the entire person and directly addresses these needs by forming intentional relationships, engaging in conversation, and providing loving support.
